Who’s seen those nice natwest adverts?  You know the nice friendly bank staff who care about your problems.  The slogan is “Helpful Banking”, but natwest (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland) is the exact opposite.  If you’ve been watching the news you will know that our government has no money and are having to cut services and jobs leaving millions of us worse off.   Where did all our money go?  Well £37billion, yes billion was given to the Royal bank of Scotland after they went broke.  That’s £617 each.  Now i’m a student so I get a free overdraft but if a normal Natwest customer goes overdrawn by one penny then they get an instant £20 fine, which is like being asked to leave milk and biscuit’s our for a burglar.  That’s not helpful and I haven’t even mentioned the £1.3billion they paid out in bonus’s with your money.

For Natwest to use the slogan “helpful banking” suggests that they either have an extraordinary disconnect from reality or think we’re fucking idiots.  What could be bigger and more patronizing outright lie?  BP brading themselves as marine conservationists?  Al-Qaeda as an international development project?  Or marriage as a value for money guarantee of regular and reliable sex with somebody you will always find attractive.  Here’s a slogan for you.

Natwest, where armed robbers have the moral high-ground

Basically it’s total hypocrisy and that’s why the day I leave university I’m talking my money to another bank and I urge you do the same.  Banks get away with daylight robbery because far too many people are far too complacent, if more of us moved our money they would have to earn our confidence with genuinely helpful banking.  So thank you for the railcard and goodnight.
